DeenUnlock is a Muslim app blocker and worship companion for iOS and Android. It helps you restrict access to distracting apps until you complete an Islamic practice — prayer, Qur'an, dhikr, du'a, or learning.
The following is stored locally on your phone:
A copy of your worship totals is also backed up, as described next. Your protected-app list and your location are never part of that backup.
DeenUnlock keeps a copy of your worship totals so they survive a reinstall or a new device. This is on by default, and you can switch it off at any time in Settings under “Back up my progress” — from that moment nothing further is sent.
What is saved: your lifetime deed counts and streaks, prayer and dhikr totals, your day-by-day prayer record (on time, late or made up) and your missed-prayer counts, monthly summaries, your Qur’an reading place and Khatm history, your goals and targets, your app language, your bookmarked ayat together with any notes you wrote on them, the du’as you saved, and any birthdays you saved — including the names you gave them.
What is never saved: your tradition or school of practice, your prayer-calculation settings, which apps you protect, your location coordinates, your email, or personal account credentials. Your tradition is never part of the backup. A new device asks you again rather than us keeping a record of it.
One exception, stated plainly: the notes you write on an ayah and the names you attach to a saved birthday are free text you chose to write, and they are part of the backup. If you would rather they never left the device, switch the backup off; nothing further is sent from that moment.
No email, password or sign-up is required. When progress backup starts, DeenUnlock creates an anonymous Firebase guest account. The backup sits under that account’s anonymous identifier, stored in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore) and encrypted in transit. Only a device that already holds that identifier can read or write the record, and no client can delete one.
A second device: Settings → “Link a device” shows a pairing code. Entering it on another device makes both share one record. That code is the only way to reach it.
Deletion: In Settings → Data & Privacy, “Delete cloud backup” replaces the stored backup with an empty one and turns backup off on this device. Data on this device stays. Turn backup off on any paired device too, or it can recreate the backup. This clears the backup data; it does not delete the anonymous Firebase guest account. submit a request on our Account & Data Deletion page or send your pairing code to admin@aimasterz.com and we will erase that record. Uninstalling removes the identifier from your device, which permanently ends any connection between you and the stored copy.
Unless you switch it off, DeenUnlock sends anonymous usage events to Google Analytics for Firebase so we can see which features help and where people get stuck — for example which screens are opened, which unlock path was used, how far setup got, and whether a purchase went through. These events carry a random installation identifier, never your name, email, or an account.
Approximate location: Google Analytics estimates the city and country a device is in from its internet connection. We see this only as totals — how many people used the app in a city — never where any one person is. Your device’s own location is never sent to analytics.
Your tradition: while usage sharing is on, analytics also records the tradition you chose in setup, attached to the same random installation identifier, so we can see how each tradition uses the app and improve what we build for it. It is never linked to your name, email, or an account, and turning usage sharing off stops it.
Never in analytics: which apps you protect, your location coordinates, anything you read or wrote, or anything that identifies you personally.
Our marketing website uses Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate traffic. Analytics storage starts in Google’s Consent Mode “denied” state and we show no cookie banner, so GA4 only receives cookieless measurement pings without a stored identifier. Every page view is sent manually and sanitized to the site origin, page path and page title — address query strings and fragments are never transmitted — and no advertising or personalization signals are enabled. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, the analytics script is not loaded at all, and the tag only loads on the production hosts deenunlock.app and www.deenunlock.app (never on preview deployments). Google’s processing follows its privacy policy.
Your choice: turn off “Share anonymous usage events” in the app’s Data & Privacy settings and the app stops sending usage events, including your tradition. Crash reports are separate and still help us fix crashes.

Neither the weather request nor the route request goes to analytics, and DeenUnlock does not use these locations for anything else or link them to you. The hosting service keeps routine, short-lived request logs, as most web services do.
Payment is processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play together with RevenueCat. DeenUnlock never sees or stores your credit card details.
